This year’s production of Alice in Wonderland Jr. was another success story thanks to the dedication, passion and enthusiasm of a cast of 24 students from year 7 to 10.
Students had the opportunity to perform the show six times during the week for Loxford primary and neighbouring primary schools as well as for the whole of Year 7 and two public performances on Wednesday and Thursday.
The well-known characters lived up to their reputation in this adaptation of Disney’s musical film. The audience joined Alice as she chased the White Rabbit, got tangled up with the Tweedles, celebrated her un-birthday at the Mad Hatters tea party and beat the Queen of Hearts at her own game. The music included classics such as “I’m late”, “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” and our favorite of all time, “Golden Afternoon”.
This year again, members of the audience have commented on the great acting, singing and dancing of the cast. They have also expressed that the standard was uniformly excellent clearly identifying how much progress and confidence some of our students have gained over previous performances.
It has been a great pleasure to work with this group of students since October and we are already contemplating the next show!
