The Eco-Warriors are currently planning and initiating a school wide campaign to reduce the school’s energy consumption.  The campaign is called “Switch it off!...Go green!”. In the first term the Eco-Warriors conducted an energy survey of the school to collect data on the school’s energy consumption. The survey revealed that Loxford is using large amounts of energy by leaving lights on when rooms are not in use and by leaving appliances left on when not in use e.g. computer monitors and photocopiers.
Following the survey, the Eco-Warriors took part in an eco-training session.  In this session they generated ideas on how Loxford School can reduce its energy consumption and on how the campaign can be promoted.  The Eco-Warriors have begun to launch the campaign by putting up various posters and stickers to help remind you to switch off lights and appliances when not in use.  In order for this campaign to be a success the Eco-Warriors need your help!  Remember to “Switch it off!...Go green!” when you are finished using lights and appliances (computers, monitors, photocopiers, speakers). Together, let’s make Loxford more eco-friendly!!!
