Mrs Patel’s Year 9 RE class recently visited the British Museum to see their Hajj Exhibition. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and represents the pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim must make in their lifetime if they are able. The exhibition is a display of deep personal journey.
The children were able to study the Hajj in detail by looking at many different artefacts such as replicas of the Black Stone and the Key of Kaaba, and they were also shown a film about Hajj. It proved to be an enjoyable day out for the class.
