What you will learn in KS3
Students follow a series of units created by Loxford staff. These units help students to develop confidence in a range of programs. Finished work is presented in the form of an e-portfolio.

DiDA Unit 1 (GCSE course)
What you will learn in KS4
Students who choose ICT as an option are entered for the Edexcel DiDA qualification. They complete 4 units, each with the value of 1 GCSE, from the following:
Unit 1 Using ICT
Unit 2 Multimedia
Unit 3 Graphics
Unit 4 ICT in Enterprise
Unit 5 Games Authoring
Students who do not choose ICT as an option complete Unit 1 of the DiDA qualification and earn themselves one GCSE in Year 10. Those students who perform particularly well have the opportunity to complete Unit 2 also for a second GCSE.
There are no examinations as all units are assessed through e-portfolios.
In September 2012 we will be introducing a new GCSE course – more information to follow.
What you will learn in KS5
Students can choose between A Level Computing (AQA), A Level ICT (AQA) and the Advanced Diploma in IT (Edexcel), which is the equivalent of 3 A Levels.
Computing Unit 1 Problem Solving, Programming, Data Representation and Practical Exercise
Unit 2 Computer Components,The Stored Program Concept, and the Internet
Unit 3 Problem Solving, Programming, Operating Systems, Databases and Networking
Unit 4 Computing Practical Project
Units 1, 2 and 3 are assessed by examinations.
Unit 4 is assessed by coursework.
