On Wednesday 28th November 36 Year 8 students took part in the IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology) Faraday Challenge 2018.
The day was facilitated by a STEM professional who filled the day with engineering activities, discussions and presentations, giving our students the opportunity to research, design and make prototype solutions to genuinely tough engineering problems.
Our Year 8 students were split into teams of 6 where they were given the opportunity to put their team working skills into action to create innovative designs, solutions and prototypes to enter into the overall competition where they won a prize for themselves and a trophy for the school.
We are happy to announce that our students did so well they have been selected to attend the IET celebration event in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation in June 2019 at The Institution of Engineering and Technology!
We are extremely proud of our Year 8 students and so happy to have been able to provide such a wonderful opportunity and experience for our students. Well done all!!
