On the 29th June, the History department took 30 Year 9 pupils to the Holocaust Exhibition at the Imperial War Museum. Students were given a tour of the exhibition. They also attended a workshop where they selected evidence they wanted to curate for their own museum. They objects they selected included a child’s letter to a no-Jewish friend, the personal photographs of Jewish life before the Nazi’s government took power and a model of Auschwitz.
The students thought this gave them a much deeper insight to the experiences of Jews and in particular were interested in the experience of Jewish children. We look forward to another visit next week.
