On Wednesday 11th January, 40 Year 10 students participated in the first stage of the ‘Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge’. We engaged in a variety of activities that aimed to make us become constructive speakers, where we could use our voice for good.
We really enjoyed participating in the workshop as not only did we learn how our voices can empower us but it also developed our confidence and leadership skills.
At the end of a gruelling day; the outcome was to produce a two minute speech on a topic of our choice. Each performer was given the platform to present their speech and at the end of a tense but exciting afternoon, 40 become 8 to face the next round of the challenge. Who will be the lucky two that will go on to represent Loxford at the Borough final?
Well Done to all the participants!
