Within the month of April our students took part in the following activities:-

  • Year 10 Parents’ Evening had a tremendous turnout of 98%
  • An independent educational consultant came to school to deliver a workshop to our Year 12 RE students
  • Student Council Meetings were held across all year groups
  • Year 7 & Year 8 students took part in the UK Maths Challenge
  • A group of students took part in a Cycling Course “Bikeability”. This involved a free maintenance check of their bikes and training to give the students confidence and the skills for cycling on the road

We visited the following places:-

  • A group of Year 10 Speak-Out Challenge students visited the Houses of Parliament focusing on debating and the law making process. By participating in group work and video analysis, the students were able to draw out successful debating techniques while learning about Parliament’s particular styles of discussion.  They debated topics like capital punishment and life skills in schools
  • Year 10 Food & Nutrition students enjoyed a visit to Borough Market in Southwark, London
  • The SEN department took some Year 11 students to Barking & Dagenham College to gain experience of the appropriate Post-16 courses
