We took a team of eight of our most gifted Year 9 French students to 'La
Journée des Casse-Têtes Mathématiques' (Maths Brainteasers Day) at
Ilford County High School. Their hall was set up with fifty tables, each
with a different maths or logic puzzle, with the main challenge
being... that all the instructions were in French! We worked alongside
one of Ilford County's Year 9 form groups and were split up into pairs
and threes, where we worked for an hour trying to complete as many of
the puzzles as possible, learning some new French along the way. We had
great fun and it was really great to use our French in a new and
interesting way!
