Road Safety Talk

On Monday 12th March 2018, Year 7 and 8 students had a talk from Redbridge Council regarding road safety. Students listened to the presentation and performance by the theatre company. Students learnt the importance of travelling safely on the roads on both bikes and when walking. Students were reminded of the Stop, Look and Listen advice for when crossing the road. The performance also highlighted the importance of wearing bright colours when riding a bike and that all bikes should include lights to help drivers see them.

Students took away information on how to be safe on the road, especially when using the technology they have today. Students were shocked by the number of people who have been injured by walking across the road when texting, due to not looking up from their phones. Students were also reminded to pause their conversations on mobile phones so that they are able to concentrate when crossing the road. Many students commented that they found the performance very useful.
