The Spanish Department has recently taken some of our Year 10 and 12 students on a residential trip to Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. The aim of the trip was to offer students a real linguistic and cultural experience of Spain. With the increasing globalization and internationalization happening everywhere, it was an amazing opportunity for our students to expand their worldview, to be taken out of their comfort zone and also get to appreciate another culture. Below are a couple of articles by the students and also some of the pictures taken during the trip.
“The experiences I have had, the lessons I have learnt and the friends I have made on the trip to Barcelona are truly indescribable. As well as improving my Spanish and elarning so much about such a wonderful culture and even eating weird sorts of Spanish food, I have made new Spanish friends as well as new friends from Loxford and have made so many new amazing memories. All the way from our late night adventure to find churros to seeing the amazing Camp Nou and sunbathing on the Barceloneta beach. But the best memories were laughing with everyone that came and all the new people we met along the way. It was truly an unforgettable experience.” Samya Zia
“Our visit to Barcelona was exceptional and indelible for me. By experiencing a new culture and lifestyle, I have learnt so much and developed my Spanish, not to mention I’ve had a lot of fun with my friends. This remarkable visit will always be remembered due to the incredible sights we saw and experiences we took part in and I hope to visit Cataluña and the Cam Nou many more times.” Mohit-Pal
