The National Portrait Gallery in London

Year 11 students recently visited The National Portrait Gallery in London as part of their GCSE Art course. They were able to study many different paintings and various forms of artwork, which will greatly aid them with their creativeness. The students learnt about how different artists use different types of techniques like various brush strokes. It was also inspiring for the pupils to look at the kind of work that adorns the walls of a gallery, and to find out about the context behind each artist’s work. The students enjoyed themselves so much that many of them were left wanting to see of the work by other artists, but unfortunately there was not quite enough time for them to see everything.
