On 1st November, Year 11 students enjoyed a fantastic production of ‘Macbeth’ in the intimate setting of the CLF Theatre, Peckham. The innovative production was set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future, allowing students to gain a fresh insight into the play’s themes and relate them to our own times.
The performances were excellent, with students particularly enjoying Lady Macbeth’s blood-curdling screams and the well-choreographed battle scenes.
After the production, we were privileged to have a Q&A session with the entire cast. Students asked thoughtful, interesting questions that enabled them to gain a deeper understanding of the characters and dramatic production of the play… and also find out where all that fake blood came from!
Overall a very enjoyable afternoon and definitely one of the most exciting ways to revise ‘Macbeth’!
