All of Year 8 have received talks from our Safer Schools Officer PC Sher and PCSO Marshall regarding staying safe online, as well as ensuring that they are safe when travelling on public transport.
Year 8 were told about the dangers of online gaming and to ensure that anyone who they were playing online with, they knew personally. Students were also reminded to cover their cameras on Playstations and Xbox consoles to ensure that people were not able to see them.
Year 8 discussed the use of a wide range of social media. Students were shocked to realise that you had to be 16 to use Whatsapp. They also discussed the ages for Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram, all of these being 13 and above. Students were reminded that they were legally responsible for all images which they place online and that none of these images could be removed.
Students were reminded about their conduct on public transport, remaining safe and the importance of tapping on and off with their ZIP card to register their journey.
