On the 18th of June a group from year 6 visited the Centre of the Cell in Queen Mary University London. When they arrived they learnt all about the body’s defences including the function of sick, snot and scabs. They particularly enjoyed entering The Pod – a virtual reality interactive cell. Inside, they learnt all about the building blocks of life and their many functions. When they were in the centre, the children got to see scientists busy at work in a world leading cell research laboratory in the heart of London. A great day was had by all, a massive thanks to Sue Keen for all of her work in the planning, as well as everyone who helped out on the day.
