On Friday 16th and Thursday 22nd March all Year 9 students took part in a workshop about extremism and radicalisation. All students took part in a 2 session workshop about the issues surrounding extremism. Students were given booklets to think about the impacts of people who have been radicalised and the impact this has had on their lives. Year 9 students thought about the different types of information they are subjected to and how they would be able to question these views. Students were then given the opportunity to share their views and give a range of opinions on this and how people are affected by extremism. Students shared how the use of comedy, music and education are able to reduce radicalisation and come up with ways in which they would be able to reduce the effects of radicalisation. All students have found the workshops interesting and valuable.
