On Monday 1st October, all students in Years’ 9, 10 and 11 watched a performance called ‘Help I’m Normal’. The performance by Redbridge Drama centre allowed the students to listen to a range of examples of mental health and how it affects people. Students learned that it was fine to have issues with mental health and that ‘feeling down’ didn’t always mean you might have depression. The play showed students how to get support from both teachers, parents and carers if they were worried about someone.
The performance looked at how students could deal with mental health issues and also how they would be able to support their peers. Students enjoyed the performance and have since been talking with their peers regarding their own mental health.
