Within the month of December our students took part in the following activities:-

  • Our Year 7/8/9 students generously contributed food to the Redbridge Foodbank. The Redbridge Foodbank is a project for the prevention or relief of poverty in Redbridge and surrounding areas, primarily by the provision of food, also including related additional services and assistance aiming to break the cycle of poverty
  • Mike Haines (brother of David Haines murdered by ISIS) came to school to deliver workshops to Year 13 and Year 10. His organisation, Global Acts of Unity, promotes unity, tolerance and understanding in schools
  • Year 7 held a Bake Sale and money donated was for Anti-Slavery International. Also money donated on Christmas Jumper Day went to the same charity and the total amount was £1,706.00 including matching funds by other companies
  • Christmas Cards were sold for our school in India, Sun City School
  • Christmas butternut squash soup was made and a donation of £137 went towards Crisis for Christmas
  • 20 Year 8 students took part in a Physics Workshop with students from Queen Mary’s and they thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the interactive activities and the two demonstrations. They will attend two more workshops
  • Sixth formers, and students from other schools in the Trust, attended a training day for the Peer Education Project
  • Year 13 and Year 12 held a football match in aid of Anti-Slavery International and Year 13 won 5-1

We visited the following places:-

  • Some Year 8s visited Seabrook Manor Care Home
  • Our Year 12 & 13 English students visited the National Portrait Gallery to see the Pre-Raphaelite Sisters exhibition
  • A group of Year 13 Business students went on a trip to The London Institute of Banking & Finance. Two of our students are in the top 1% international AS results and 13 students have a scholarship prize
  • 17 Year 9s attended a classical concert in St Martin-in-the-Fields
  • 18 Year 9s went on a reward ice skating trip to The Tower of London Ice Rink
  • 15 Year 7s went on a reward trip to the Christmas Market at Leicester Square
  • 20 Year 12s went on a reward ice skating trip to Greenwich and the Christmas Market
  • 15 Year 8s went on a reward trip to the Queen’s House Rink at Greenwich
  • 30 Year 10s went on a reward ice skating trip to The Tower of London Ice Rink
  • A group of our Year 12 students visited Trillo Court Care Home

Loxford took part in many sporting fixtures:-

  • Year 7 boys’ football lost to Beal 6-3
  • Year 7 girls’ netball defeated Mayfield 6-1
  • Year 9 girls’ netball lost to Mayfield 9-22
  • Year 7 & 8 took part in the Barking Rugby Club Festival
