Within the month of July our students took part in the following activities:-


  • RADA came in for our Year 10 GCSE Drama students and they gave a wonderful performance
  • We held our Year 6 Induction Evening for both parents and students
  • The national charity organisation “Prison Me! No Way!” came to visit the whole of the Year 8s to raise awareness about the causes, consequences and penalties of crime. It was a fantastic day and the students got so much out of it.  The feedback from the organisation was amazing.  They said they had never been anywhere like our school.  They could not speak highly enough of the relationship between the tutors and the students.  The students asked intuitive questions about sensitive issues
  • Year 10 and Year 12 had a Careers Insight presentation into Nursing
  • The 6th form Taster Lessons Event for our Year 11 and external candidates was held over two days
  • The fantastic work of our GCSE and A-Level students was on display in the Assembly Hall for our annual Art, Photography & Textiles Exhibition
  • A talk was given for our Year 12 Physics students on Electronic Engineering
  • Achievement Assemblies for Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12 were held and prizes/certificates were given to students for progress/achievement/attendance/punctuality and tutor group of the year


We visited the following places:-


  • A small group of our EAL students from across Years 7, 8 & 9 visited the V&A Museum to help them gain awareness of British culture, heritage and values and they visited the various rooms of the museum that have links with the history of the United Kingdom
  • Our Year 10 Geography students went on a field trip to study the regeneration and redevelopment of Stratford and Hackney Wick
  • Several Year 7 & Year 8 students were invited on a reward trip to “Shrek’s Adventure”. They had an enjoyable time and everything went smoothly
  • Students from Years 9 & 10 visited the SSAT Aspirations School Show 2018 in Stratford. The show gives young people the chance to feel they have control over their own futures through exploring their potential future pathways.  Students were able to engage with people from different industries and learn about the challenges faced and methods to overcome them.  They listened to speaker sessions and there were also interactive workshops throughout the day.  At the end of the show they received an SSAT student passport enabling them to record a huge range of life experiences beyond the academic
  • Year 10 STEM students visited “Make the Future Live Schools Programme”, Queen Elizabeth Park, Stratford
  • A number of our ICT Year 10 & Year 12 students visited the “Apple Store”, Lakeside. The main purpose of this trip was to give the students the opportunity to engage in fun and creative programming projects, using the latest state of the art products designed by Apple.  The products will include a selection of the newest iPad, iPhone and Mac devices.  Each student received a certificate
  • Our Year 12 English Literature students went to the Iris Theatre to watch “The Tempest”
  • Many of our students from Years 7-10 went on a reward trip to Thorpe Park and had a thoroughly enjoyable day
  • Year 12 student took part in an achievement celebration day to “Go Ape”, an outdoor adventure park
  • A small group of our Year 7 students visited Aldborough Primary to tell how great Loxford School is and prepare the Year 6 students for September
  • As a reward trip, some Year 8s went to the Showcase Cinema in Newham to see “Incredibles 2”


Loxford took part in many sporting fixtures:-


  • Year 9 & 10 PE students went on a reward trip to Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre
  • We held Sports Day separately for Year 9, 8 & 7
