Within the month of March our students took part in the following activities:-

  • Our school performance of Aladdin was a tremendous success. Someone asked if it is going on tour!  Well done everyone
  • During last half term the Redbridge Youth Elections were held and Ali Raja 10F is the Deputy MP for the Youth Parliament – well done Ali!
  • Year 9 have started the process of choosing the subjects they wish to study at GCSE level by attending taster lessons at lunchtime and after school
  • The author, Alex Wheatle, came in to Loxford to work with our Year 9s and some Year 10s through a Creative Workshop and everyone was inspired!
  • Our Year 9 & 10 students took part in a Maths Challenge competition
  • The Fred Theatre Company performed “MacBeth” to Year 10 & 11. Students thoroughly enjoyed the performance which is going to aid them in their GCSE English and Drama exams
  • Year 10 prepared their Jack Petchey speeches and our two winners were Ali Raja 10F and Asma Sheikh-Salah 10D. They represented the school at the Redbridge Finals at Oaks Park school.  Although they didn’t win they were both phenomenal
  • Year 9 had 2 training sessions regarding Extremism and Radicalisation Awareness (EARA) which is a DFE initiative run by Kidscape
  • Year 12 Parents’ Evening had an attendance of 97%
  • We held Year 6 to Year 7 interviews
  • Many thanks to staff and students who raised £232 for Sports Relief


We visited the following places:-


  • A mixed group of students were selected to participate in the Redbridge Schools’ Choral Festival at the Royal Albert Hall. Most of the schools in the Borough took part and the event was an exciting occasion with over 1800 singers performing with the Redbridge Music School Symphony Orchestra in a world-class venue.  This was a very exciting and unique experience for the students and they sang their hearts out!
  • Our Year 13 Economic students went on an Edexcel A-Level Economics Student Revision Day at Conway Hall in London
  • The Year 13 Geography students attended a Grade Booster Workshop at Westfield, Stratford
  • A group of Year 13 Business students attend a Tutor 2 U Grade Booster Session at Westfield, Stratford
  • Some of our Year 10 students went on a reward trip to Cineworld, Ilford to watch “Tomb Raider”


Loxford took part in many sporting fixtures:-


  • Year 7 girls netball defeated Oaks Park 6-5
  • Year 10 girls’ netball lost to Oaks Park 9-13
  • Year 8 girls’ netball defeated Beal 9-4
  • Year 7 boys football drew with Isaac Newton 3-3
  • Year 7 girls netball defeated Seven Kings 12-4
  • Year 7 girls netball defeated Ursuline 6-2
  • Year 8 boys football defeated Seven Kings 1-0
