Within the month of November our students took part in the following activities:-

  • Loxford School took part in hosting an exhibition from the Anne Frank Trust UK. 16 students from Years 8 and 9 were chosen to receive specialist ambassador training from the charity, in order to deliver the exhibition to their fellow students. The chosen ambassadors spent two days, learning not just Anne Frank’s renowned story, but also why what she endured at the time and her legacy are so important today, and what society can learn from her story. Every single student in Years 7, 8 and 9 visited the exhibition over a two week period, and a number of classes took part in a follow up workshop that discussed how extremist beliefs and practices can be challenged in today’s society.  Six of the 6 students have been chosen to represent Loxford School and the Anne Frank Trust UK at the community exhibition, hosted at Redbridge Library in December.
  • Years 9 and 12 attended a workshop called Brave. This was a 90 minute session covering gang exploitation, violent and extremism.  The workshop looked at how perpetrators recruit young people and what they can do to stay safe by making students aware of the grooming process
  • Our Year 7 Welcome Evening had a fantastic attendance of 98%
  • Our 6th form Subject Fayre was held for our Year 11 students to speak to both staff and current 6th form students about the different courses on offer and what topics they would study across the two year
