LOXFORD IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER

Within the month of September our students took part in the following activities:-

  • Year 12 had an Induction Day which consisted of different sessions:
    • Literacy, academic reading & plagiarism & volunteering
    • Goal setting & letter to self
    • Skills to succeed including oracy & critical thinking
    • Academic planning
    • Team building
  • Football and netball trials were held for our KS3 students
  • There is an SEN Homework/Games Club held every day at lunchtime
  • The BBC have a “Young Reporter” competition and all of our students from 11-18 were encouraged to enter; the most unique and interesting stories will be put in front of a panel of presenters and the winner will be broadcast by the BBC on either the radio, TV or online

We visited the following places:-

  • A large group of our Year 12 students visited the Hackney Empire to the launch of the “Million Minds” Tour.  The aim of this tour is to help young people cope with the challenges that life presents them and to stay healthy and provide follow-on support tools to help young people develop positive mental health

Loxford took part in many sporting fixtures:-

  • Year 8 football lost to Canon Palmer 1-4
