Loxford School has grown significantly. The school is now an all through school and is fast becoming one of the biggest schools in the United Kingdom with over 3000 students. Loxford’s influence is now wider than our local community as we grow as a Multi Academy Trust. This means that we now sponsor schools on special measures to improve the outcome for other students in other schools. You can see more of this journey on the Loxford Trust’s own website.
The school believes in setting the highest levels of academic targets and reaching these. The A* – C levels have increased this year as have the A level accomplishments and the KS1 area has met the government floor targets against the most challenging circumstances. The EYFS levels exemplify again the school’s desire to set high standards for all the students that attend.
You will be joining an ‘Outstanding’ all through school that is really going places. At Loxford School we believe our pioneering and rigorous learning environment, and commitment to innovation provides our students with the opportunity to realise their full potential. We innovate, we challenge and we ensure success. We are a High Performing (LEPP) school which builds on our previous specialist status as a Technology College, Training School and Language College. We have been commended for our results at GCSE which put us in the top 100 secondary schools. Our desire to improve further is shown by our active partnerships on the PiXL, Going for Great and London Gold schools programmes.
Our commitment to the professional development of staff can be seen in our Investors in People status. We treat children as individuals and we are strongly committed to equality of opportunity. Rated recently as ‘outstanding’ for a second time by Ofsted, our high VA scores have been commended and our academic attainment continues to improve. We have maintained this level of excellence in our brand new learning environment.
This year the school will focus on its moral purpose and the need to ensure it has an impact and makes a difference in the lives of all individuals “if you don’t treat others well and fairly, you will be a leader without followers” – Michael Fullan.
Many students join Loxford during the school year with the majority starting in September. If you are starting during the school year you and your parents/carer will have an interview with your Achievement Team Leader and another member of staff before you join. At the interview you will be asked some questions about yourself and your Achievement Team Leader will explain all about life at Loxford. These questions will help us get to know you better so we can support you in achieving your very best.
After your interview but before you join the school you will have to buy your uniform, how to do this will be explained at your interview. On this page you will see information from our uniform supplier.
On your first day you will be met in the Reception of the Secondary or Primary building by your Achievement Team Leader or Year Care Team. They will give you the items you will need to help you achieve your best. If you are joining year 7 to 13 you will get your timetable and homework diary and they will take you to your tutor room and introduce you to your tutor and classmates.
You will be given a ‘buddy’ (another student) who will help you settle into our school, you will also be taken on a tour and you will have an English language assessment.
If you have any questions, then please ask them when you are interviewed. We want you to be happy and work hard, remember our aim is for you to achieve as much as you possibly can. This will be personally as well as academic qualifications.
