43 Year 12 students were fortunate to attend the launch of the ‘Million Minds’ tour which was set up by ex-Loxford student Jamala Osman
The Million Minds tour want to help young people cope with the challenges that life presents them and stay healthy.
There has been an increase in mental health problems amongst young people and a decrease in the ability of young people to cope with stress, adapt to difficult situations and learn to cope with emotions.
We at Loxford recognise the importance of staying both physically and mentally healthy and students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and opportunity to gain insight into their own mental health and how to seek help if needed.
The Million Minds tour will bring together a group of amazing up and coming artists and speakers in to deliver a lesson to young people between the ages of 14-18 about mental health in a fresh and exciting way.
The tour will visit four major cities across the UK and culminate in a Guinness World Record attempt when we hold the world’s largest mental health lesson for 3000 young people at the Worldskills event at the NEC in Birmingham. Our lesson is designed by our partners at Kings College London and will be delivered by Professor Til Wykes as part of a one-and-a-half-hour high energy show.
