On the 13th of June a group from year 6 visited the L’Oréal laboratory at the Royal Institution London. When they arrived they learnt all about the importance of DNA in our bodies. They particularly enjoyed extracting their own DNA and got the opportunity to use highly specialised scientific equipment. When they left the laboratory, the children were able to take a tiny part of their own DNA with them in a necklace. A great day was had by all. A massive thanks to Sue Keene for all of her work in the planning, as well as Jason from the PTA for his help on the day.
