In memory of Queen Elizabeth II

Following the sad news of the passing of the Queen on Thursday 8th September. The school has marked this historical event and celebrated the life of the Queen through a series of events across the school including :

  • PSHCE workshops on the Queen's life covering her early years, her role as leader of the Commonwealth, her relationship with her PMs and her International role and importance
  • Books of condolence were placed in the school libraries
  • Humanities and English lessons across the school looked at different aspects of her role and life
  • Live news broadcasts in Sixth Form study areas following national events across the week
  • Art project and portraits of the Queen
  • The flag flew at half-mast on the school grounds
  • PSHCE sessions on King Charles and changes to the monarchy.

" Queen Elizabeth II, thank you for everything you did for our country and the commonwealth. You served the people for 70 years and one of your quotes has now rang true - We are in this place of time for a short while. to learn, to observe, to love and then we go home. you will be sorely missed"
