Year 7 and Year 12 Welcome MP Jas Athwal to Loxford

On Friday, selected Year 7 pupils and Year 12 Government & Politics students were delighted to welcome Jas Athwal, Member of Parliament for Ilford South, to Loxford School.

Jas shared his personal journey into public life - from serving as a local councillor and Leader of Redbridge Council to becoming our local MP - as well as his earlier career as an ‘ethical hacker’. Students heard first-hand how a commitment to community and hard work can open doors into public service.

Pupils across both year groups rose to the occasion, asking thoughtful and insightful questions that reflected real curiosity about politics, local democracy and the world of work.

We are extremely grateful to Jas for taking the time to speak with our students and inspire the next generation of Loxford leaders.
