Year 7 Trip to the Science Museum, London — 13 May 2026
BackOn 13 May 2026, 30 Year 7 students visited the Science Museum in London for a full-day enrichment trip, exploring a range of world-class galleries that brought their classroom learning to life.
Students were particularly captivated by the Flight exhibit, which traces the history of aviation from early gliders to modern jet aircraft, showcasing iconic planes and the engineering breakthroughs that made powered flight possible. In the Energy Revolution gallery, they explored how humanity has harnessed energy across the centuries and what a sustainable future might look like - connecting directly to themes studied in science and geography. The Information Age gallery offered a fascinating journey through the technologies that have transformed global communication, from the telegraph and telephone to the internet and beyond. Finally, Making the Modern World presented a remarkable collection of landmark objects from the past 250 years of science and industry, illustrating how innovation has shaped the world we live in today.
The trip provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with STEM subjects in an inspiring real-world setting. We are incredibly proud of how our Year 7 students represented Loxford School - their curiosity, enthusiasm, and behaviour throughout the day were a credit to themselves and the school community.
