Year 9 Trip to The Bank of England Museum
BackOn May 8, Year 9 students from 28 visited the Bank of England Museum for an educational trip focused on the history of money and the development of the British economy. During the visit, students explored exhibits showing the history of banknotes, including how their designs and security features have changed over time. They also learned about some of the reasons why England became a wealthy country such as trade, industrial growth, and the expansion of banking and finance. Students enjoyed seeing real gold bars, historic coins, and interactive displays that helped explain how the economy works; they especially liked trying to lift the gold bar worth £1.3 million. The trip was both interesting and informative, giving students a better understanding of Britain’s financial history and the role of the Bank of England.
