Reception to Sixth Form Enjoy Brass Quartet Concert- Wednesday June 10, 2026
BackYesterday afternoon, pupils from across the entire school community, from our youngest Reception children through to students in Sixth Form, enjoyed a memorable live performance by a professional Brass Quartet.
The musicians presented a varied and engaging programme that showcased a wide range of musical styles and traditions. Students were delighted to hear popular favourites from ABBA, exciting themes from Pirates of the Caribbean, and a selection of works from the Classical period. The performance provided an enriching opportunity for students to experience high-quality live music and to develop their appreciation of different genres, composers, and musical traditions.
Throughout the concert, students demonstrated exceptional levels of engagement, listening attentively and responding enthusiastically to the performers. The quartet introduced the instruments of the brass family and shared insights into the techniques, skills, and dedication required to perform at a professional level. This helped students gain a deeper understanding of musical performance and inspired many to consider their own musical journeys.
The event was a wonderful example of Loxford's commitment to providing a broad and ambitious curriculum that extends beyond the classroom. It promoted cultural capital, fostered a love of the arts, and enabled students of all ages to participate in a shared musical experience. The visiting musicians were highly complimentary about our students, praising their excellent behaviour, respectful conduct, and genuine enthusiasm throughout the performance.
